What are your products made of?  

We do offer different metals quality from 14K Solid Gold, Sterling Silver and non conventional jewelry metals like Stainless Steel.

Each jewelry piece will indicate METAL QUALITY in description.

 

Does your sterling silver tarnish?

There is a common misconception that only fake silver jewelry tarnishes.

This is not completely true.

For jewelry to use silver, you need to mix it with another metal since it is too soft in its pure form.

For example, Sterling Silver has 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% another metal. This 7.5% is what causes it to tarnish when exposed to oxygen or water for an extended period.

Remember that pure water will not tarnish your silver jewelry . However, due to pollution or chemical contact, it is increasingly difficult to obtain water in its purest form these days.

Some sterling silver is more resistant to tarnish and we would specify due to the components. In that case we would indicate in the product description.

 

How I take care of my Sterling Silver jewelry?

Before you purchase silver jewelry, ensure you understand the grading. 

For example, a .925 rating means it is Sterling silver.

Sterling is 92.5% silver so, if you maintain it properly, it is less likely to tarnish compared to jewelry with less silver percentage.

Or it could be .999, which means it is 99.9% pure silver and is softer than .925. Also, because .999 is soft, it scratches easily and tarnishes quickly.

To take care of your Silver pieces we recommend the following steps:

• Remove your jewelry before doing chores or showering to avoid exposure to harsh substances.

• Then store each silver piece separately to prevent scratching and tangling.

• To clean your jewelry we recommend using a non-abrasive polishing cloth on the stone (is stone set on piece) and metal. If the metal is especially dirty, you can soak it in a mild soapy water solution, but please do not soak the stone.

 Are your sterling silver Rhodium Plated?

Not all our sterling silver pieces are Rhodium plated. Rhodium is one of the most common types of tarnish resistant coating used for silver jewelry plating and e-coating.

 Rhodium plating involves applying rhodium since it is a highly tarnish-resistant metal. 

Another way is the e-coating.

E-coating uses electric current to charge paint particles that build upon your silver jewelry when immersed inside the solution.

Either way here at Be the light by Luz, we will let you know the process used in our Silver pieces.

 

 

Do you handcrafted all jewelry pieces ?

We do handcrafted some of our pieces and others are carefully selected from trusted manufactures and artisans around the world.

As part of our commitment to social responsibility we do our due diligence to provide pieces from the best suppliers, manufactures and artisans before the piece get to your hands.

 

Why you are so eager about faith inspirational pieces?

We are a faith woman owned company and one of the most important thing for us is to glorify the name of God in everything we do. One of the motor Bible verse for this company is Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world” and we want to show God and Jesus in everything we do.  We cannot do business within mentioning the one that blessed us with it.
